Week 1 - Goal Setting & Finding Your Why

After listening to the “Goal Setting” audio, take out your journal or a sheet of paper to write down your health goals. Make sure to set 30-day, 90-day and 1-year goals. They need to be specific, measurable, action-oriented, reasonable and time-bound. Write down your goal weight for 30-days, 90-days and 1-year. Write down all other goals you have related to your health and fitness. Next, write down your goal feelings. How do you want to feel about your body, energy, health? What kind of mindset do you want to hold?

Once you’ve written down your goals, you’re going to write down all of the doubts & uncertainties that are surrounding those goals. This is the DRAMA, the chatter that discourages us from setting big goals in the first place. Write those down! Once you’ve pinpointed exactly what you’re afraid of, you will make a STRATEGY column. What do you need in order to feel confident? What kind of support and tools do you need move forward despite those fears? What are your solutions? Write them down.

After listening to the “Finding Your Why” audio, take out your journal or a sheet of paper to write down the reasons why you want to achieve your goals. Reflect back to the goals you made in the last exercise and identify all the ways your life will be improved after you transform and WHY this change is necessary.

You need a lot of compelling reasons, so come up with as many as you want! Use these prompts:

So I can feel...

So I can think...

If you need help, make a list of what your weight or your health is preventing you from doing now. What do you want to be able to do that isn’t possible for you right now? In what ways is your current health or weight holding you back?

None of the answers, none of your WHYS, are wrong. If it’s motivating to you, use that to stay committed. Don’t be afraid to think about what YOU want in YOUR life.
